Thumbs Down – The gene pool needs some chlorine added.

The gene pool needs some chlorine added.

Legislate that, you idiots

“One of the greatest delusions in the world is the hope that the
evils in this world are to be cured by legislation.”
Thomas Reed, 1886.

Not content with just mortgaging our own future and that of our kids, our government in it’s great wisdom eternal stupidity has managed to put the grandkids in the (sinking) ship, too.

Please explain to me just how stupid you have to be to sign something you haven’t even read? God knows what is in the “stimulus” bill, because our lawmakers (and I use the term loosely) certainly don’t.

At this point, information on just what is in this  bill POS is unavailable. There are 485 amendments, most of which information is not available on, either.

However, I find these to be of interest:
S.Amdt.107 Fail
Prohibiting direct or indirect use of funds to fund the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

(Can’t let Present BO’s favorite organization down, now can we?)

S.Amdt.140 Fail
To provide greater accountability of taxpayers’ dollars by curtailing congressional earmarking and requiring disclosure of lobbying by recipients of Federal funds.

(What, accountability, why the next thing you know, those peasants  will want to have a say in what we do…)

.2S.Amdt38 EPIC FAIL To ensure that the $1 trillion spending bill is not used to expand the scope of the Federal Government by adding new spending programs.

By now, I don’t know whether to laugh or puke.

Define Treason

Article III, section 3 of the U.S. Constitution: “Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.”

While giving testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee by U.S. Director of National Intelligence Dennis C. Blair on the nation’s security threats, Dianne  Feinstein  (D-CA) expressed surprise at Pakistani opposition to the ongoing campaign of Predator-launched CIA missile strikes against Al Qaeda targets along Pakistan’s northwest border.
The disclosure by Sen. Feinstein, the chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, marked the first time a U.S. official had publicly commented on where the Predator aircraft patrolling Pakistan take off and land.
“As I understand it, these are flown out of a Pakistani base,” she said of the planes.

Treason requires overt acts such as giving sensitive government security secrets to other countries, even if such countries are not enemies. Treason can include spying on behalf of a foreign power or divulging military secrets.

If this isn’t considered treason, at the very least, it is a case of terminal stupidity. But what can you expect from a Calif. Dumycrat….

Is Anybody Listening?

H.R.645

National Emergency Centers Establishment Act (Introduced in House January 22, 2009)

If this bill passes, $180,000,000 of our tax money  will be spent to fund DETENTION CENTERS (lets call them what they are, folks) to:

    • (1) to provide temporary housing, medical, and humanitarian assistance to individuals and families dislocated due to an emergency or major disaster;
    • (2) to provide centralized locations for the purposes of training and ensuring the coordination of Federal, State, and local first responders;
    • (3) to provide centralized locations to improve the coordination of preparedness, response, and recovery efforts of government, private, and not-for-profit entities and faith-based organizations; and

(4) to meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security.

Take a close look at number 4. What are “appropriate needs”? Who determines “appropriate needs”? Go to the link at the top of the page and read the whole thing. The only thing we learn from history, is …. that we don’t learn from history.

Of Pork, Pigs and Bailouts….

Treasury Department’s Troubled Asset Relief Program  TARP

The pigs are lining up for their bailout handout portion of the loot.

GMAC – $6 billion

Chrysler Financial – $1.5 billion

AIG – $40 billion

Citigroup – $45 billion

Bank of America – $15 billion

Fannie Mae – $16 billion

Freddie Mac – $13.8 billion (expects to request $35 billion more)

Does anyone know exactly WHAT all this money was used for? I’m betting not. I’m also betting that the people who got it don’t know exactly where it went, either, but they sure want more.

We all got promised ponies, but all I see is a pile of horse shit.  (Don’t blame me, I didn’t vote for this…)

Screwing us over one database at a time.

HR 45 – Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 (Introduced in House) Here’s part of it below….My comments inserted.

SEC. 2. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES.

(a) Findings- Congress finds that–

(1) the manufacture, distribution, and importation of firearms is
inherently commercial in nature;
Duh, it’s called capitalism.

(2) firearms regularly move in interstate commerce;
So do vegetables.

(3) to the extent that firearms trafficking is intrastate in nature,
it arises out of and is substantially connected with a commercial     transaction, which, when viewed in the aggregate, substantially affects interstate commerce;
Definition – Trafficking
In general, carrying on a disreputable or illegal commercial activity, such as sale of banned substances. Guns are not illegal or disreputable. Unfortunately, they will be banned if the Constitution shredders have their way.

(4) because the intrastate and interstate trafficking of firearms
are so commingled, full regulation of interstate commerce requires the
incidental regulation of intrastate commerce;
God forbid the government can’t regulate and tax our every move.

(5) gun violence in the United States is associated with the
majority of homicides, over half the suicides,
and two-thirds of non-fatal violent injuries;
Homicides are committed by criminals. Criminals don’t obey the law. What makes Congress think they will pay any attention to this particular law? Suicides are a tragedy, but what makes anyone think a law will make someone bent on killing him/herself  NOT do it? I believe suicide is already illegal, go ahead – prosecute that one!

(6) on the afternoon of May 10, 2007, Blair Holt,
a junior at Julian High School in Chicago,
was killed on a public bus riding home from school
when he used his body to shield a girl who was in the
line of fire after a young man boarded the bus and started shooting.
About 115 people die every day in vehicle
crashes in the United States — one death every 13 minutes.
Perhaps we should ban cars. We already register them, as you can see it really helps cut down on the deaths!

Why is the news media like a parrot?

“The more one considers the matter, the clearer it becomes that redistribution is in effect far less a redistribution of free income from the richer to the poorer, as we imagined, than a redistribution of power from the individual to the State.” Bertrand de Jouvenel

President Present-Elect BO plans to use his executive powers to signal change, plans to use his executive powers to signal change , plans to use his executive powers to signal change, plans to use his executive powers to signal change…. Four pages of Google results later, every headline of every media outlet I found is parroting the exact same thing. Or the variant…BO could use his executive powers to at least signal that Washington is changing, is changing, is changing, is……

Not one of them had much of substance to say.  Of note, no one knows if BO will appear in the  Senate for votes during the post election session this month.  BO’s presence would be extraordinary, given his position as present-elect, (actually it would have been extraordinary if he had appeared most of time he was supposed to be there, before the election). I expect if he does actually show up, it will be to vote “Present”.

Can you say “Polly wants a cracker?” Sorry Polly, your cracker has been redistributed to more deserving parrots.

PS I find it ironic that the google ads that appear just to the left of most of the articles read:

“Find low prices on Executive Power and save.”

“Give the Gift that Keeps on Giving. Shop executive power at Exava.”

“Find Bargain Prices On Executive Power.”

From what I can see we ain’t gettin no bargain.
