Shredding The Constitution

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Earlier this month, the Federal Trade Commission issued its “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising,” which they last updated in 1980. These rules  regulate what celebrity endorsers can say and how advertisers can use research claims.

The FTC has now decided that regulations covering “endorsements and testimonials” should apply to people commenting on product or services, such as reviewing the latest gadgets or fashions, through blogs, Facebook posts and Twitter updates.

Traditional media, of course, are exempt from the rules – many newspapers, magazines and broadcasters accept freebies for their reviewers.  Traditional media also appears to have it’s head so far up the ass of Democratic PIP’s (persons in power) that they can’t see daylight, which would explain why they don’t need to play by the rules the PIP’s want us commoners to play by.

I get really tired of petty bureaucrats shitting out reams of rules and regulations which accomplish nothing, cost taxpayers time and money,  have no practical method of enforcement, and are unconstitutional to boot. And then they have the gall to say they are to protect the people.  Thanks, but no thanks.  Keep the change.

So, who died and made them God, anyway?

He Must Be A Frickin Saint

By now, I’m sure you have heard all about Senator Kennedy’s demise. The papers have been plastered with articles praising him to the skys. Frankly, it makes me want to puke.

The family has my condolences on the loss of a Father and Husband, but lets get real folks. This is a man who drove off a bridge while under the influence and left a young girl to die. A man who the papers acclaimed as a “Champion of the common man” but spent his entire adult life sucking off the government tit (Did he ever hold a real job?). A self proclaimed “Greenie” except when it impacted his own lifestyle (Can’t have those ugly wind towers in his back yard).

And, the Dimicrats are wetting their pants thinking that they might not get to chose his “successor”.  Seems that they changed the law when it looked like a Republican might be appointed to fill an empty seat and now they want to change it back. Hmmm, can’t be a political motive, can it?

So, I’m thinking, the standards for Sainthood must have been drastically lowered.

Dissent is Patriotic….

Except, evidently, when directed at certain parties. They can dish it out, but they can’t take it.

We are being encouraged to turn our neighbors in ( Hitler youth, anyone? ) if they say something “fishy” about the government.

Fuck you and the carp you rode in on. Is that fishy enough for you?

Evidently, We Are Stupid…

Government debt held by the public, by the end of the fiscal year,  will have ballooned from $5.8 trillion to $8.5 trillion in less than a year.

The $4 trillion that Congress may spend by Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year, breaks down to a daily outlay of $11 billion every 24 hours.

Congress is now spending about $3 trillion more than it did in 1945, at the end of World War II, once numbers are adjusted for inflation.

“The bottom line is that it’s a very large number.” (Nicholas Economides, a professor at NYU’s Stern School of Business.)

Duh.

We are in a recession. The economy sucks. We are spending money we don’t have. We aren’t bothering to keep track of what we’re spending money on. Congress is gleefully planning on spending MORE of the money we don’t have…. And they aren’t listening to the taxpayers who are telling them “Stop!”

Because, evidently, we are stupid. And the government is coming to save us.

We’re screwed.

So, Present BO…

What are you going to say to the people who did this…?
