Rep. Anthony Weiner refused to answer questions about how a photo of an erect penis covered by boxer briefs ended up on his Twitter account over the weekend. Instead, he has hired a lawyer. Law enforcement hasn’t been asked to investigate his allegations of fraudulent access to his Twitter account. Originally, he claimed he was sending a private message to a 21-year-old Seattle co-ed, and mis-typed, sending it instead to all of his followers on his Twitter account. Oops.
Then he claimed it wasn’t HIS crotch that was tweeted. His account MUST HAVE BEEN HACKED!!! (But he isn’t doing anything about it…). And since he is a dimacrat, I don’t expect he will face any questions from the Ethics Committee.
I wonder what his wife thinks about his tweeting crotch?
pResident FAIL
The seat-warmer in the White House has announced that he is running for the office of President of the United States in 2012. So, lets take this chance to look at his qualifications for the office and his accomplishments 2+ years into his first (and , G-d help us, last) term.
Requirement #1,2 &3
No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.
Number one is the big one: kind of like the Covergirl model. Is he or isn’t he? I really don’t know – it has degenerated into a “He says, She says” argument and since an inordinate amount of time and money have been spent to seal the pertinent records, we may NEVER know for sure. I say “Prove it” . If I have to cough up my birth certificate for a passport, surely running for POTUS should have similar requirements. If he has nothing to hide, then he could stop all the speculation easily. (As an interesting aside, if BO should prove NOT to be a “natural born citizen” of the US – is all of the legislation he signed into law, null and void?)
Numbers two and three are a Yes, – he is 35 years old or older and has lived in the US at least 14 years. Which one of the “57″ states he lived in is up for discussion.
Now, on to his accomplishments in this last (nearly) 2 1/2 years in office:
I have a link which claims to list 244 accomplishments during his terms in office. I won’t re-list them here as I have neither the time or the required high tolerance for bullshit that it would take. Some of the things I will list are: (these are NOT on the linked list)
Alienated some of our closest allies (read England, Israel, Poland and the Czech Republic for starters).
Bowed to more foreign heads of state than any other President (King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and Japan’s Emperor Akihito)
Appointed more “czars” than any other president (35-or more depending on who is counting)
Has bypassed Senate approval for some appointments by waiting until they recess and then claiming he couldn’t wait for them to return to do the “business of the people”. Odd since he made the bulk of these appointments while holding a majority in both houses.
Improved his golf game considerably (at our expense).
Learned how to salute properly (kudos to the Marine on Marine One who kept his cool when the pResident shook his hand instead of saluting – adapt, improvise, overcome…)
Won the Nobel Peace prize for ….(what exactly? Good intentions? If so, I want one too.)
Has made his teleprompter famous.
The pResident has made it quite clear just what contempt he holds “We the People of the United States” in, by numerous actions and in numerous speeches. He has ballooned the national debt into an astronomical amount, rammed unread legislation through congress via his minions, acted like a petulant two year old when he doesn’t get his way, and is violating our Constitutional rights via the UN. We can’t stand another 4 years of this crap. And we are going to be paying for this current mistake for many years to come. Wake up America – we are at war and the price of defeat is our Nation.
Opt In or Opt Out?
I have written about organ donation before. As it presently stands, when you renew your Colorado Drivers License, you can “opt in” and become an organ donor. Our mommies beloved leaders The idiots in charge want to change that (New York style) and MAKE you a donor unless you opt out.
Now, as I stated before, I have nothing against being an organ donor. After all, if I am dead, I certainly don’t have any use for my spare parts. However, I resent a bunch of govt. busybodies telling me that I WILL be an organ donor, unless I fill out the proper forms to get out from under their thumb. This is not the function of govt.
Who gets my parts and pieces after I croak, is none of their goddamn business. If I chose to incinerate my parts warehouse , that’s my choice and I don’t want to have to fill out their paperwork so I can “have it my way”.
Oh, but, IT’S A GOOD THING, and it makes it SO MUCH EASIER. It’s just a little bit more govt, just a little bit more control, and down the slippery slope we go….
If organ donation is a GOOD THING, then go ahead – do it. It’s your choice – your conscious choice to do a good deed for someone you will never meet. It is an honorable thing, and one of the highest forms of charity, that of giving when neither party knows the others identity.
It would certainly raise the level of organ donation, because I am certain, a lot of people would find it to much bother to opt out, regardless of how they felt about it. If the level of donation is to low, then I suggest that we think of different ways to achieve the goal of higher donations. As it stands, the organ donors themselves get nothing (of course, as they are usually dead, this isn’t a big deal), the recipient get a new part (which may or may not work out, no returns, mileage may vary) and the medical people make out like bandits.
So what’s wrong with this picture? I can see a large flaw in that, in a money driven society, there just isn’t an incentive to donate. Selling of organs is generally frowned upon, so that is out. But, I don’t think having Big Brother step in and decide for us as being a solution. 
I don’t see the govt doing much of anything really well and I’d just as soon keep them out of my life (and death) as much as possible.
Sometimes I wonder…
How come some people will get the weather forecast for the day from their phone…instead of looking out the window….and then make numerous comments about how wrong it is and “Why can’t they ever get it right…” And then…in the next breath…check the forecast for next week and proclaim “It’s going to really nice next week!!!”
HELLO??? If the forecast for the day is WRONG, what makes you think the forecast for NEXT WEEK is any more accurate????
These are the same people who swoon over movie stars, love reality TV and believe the evening news….
I’m just glad my life doesn’t depend on the decisions these people make.
