“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”
With these words, the men who wrote them, set us on the road to the republic we have today. My question is “Can we keep it?” I certainly hope so.
On this Independence Day, the Fourth of July, 2010, I want to take the time to say “Thank You” to all the men and women who have put their lives on the line to see that we have the opportunity to spend the day with our family and friends practicing “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness…”
Without you, there would be no America.
