We’re Playing “Let’s Pretend”…

Imagine that you were a politician (disgusting, I know, but try…). Imagine that you were trying to pass a wildly unpopular piece of shit legislation, that your overlord boss insisted must be passed (something to do with the end of civilization as we know it). But, your  quivering slimeballs comrades in this endeavor don’t want anyone to know what they have done.

So The Wicked Witch of the House Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi wants the  House to  vote on a more popular package of fixes to the Senate “Health Care Reform bill“; under the House rule for that vote, passage would signify that lawmakers “deem” the health-care bill to be passed. This sounds like “Let’s Pretend” to me.

It is one of three options that Pelosi said she is considering for a late-week House vote, but she added that she prefers it because it would politically protect lawmakers who are reluctant to publicly support the measure.

God Forbid that we should have and accountability or transparency in government! God Forbid that any of our elected representatives should have to admit that they voted to pass a bill that slightly over half of the American public doesn’t want.

We don’t want this bill

No, Sir we don’t

We want it not,

We don’t , We don’t

Can’t you hear,

it’s not for us.

How many ways can we say NO

I’ve said my piece, I  think I’ll go

By the way MY ANSWER IS (STILL) NO.

What part of “No” don’t they understand?????

Read Before Signing….

My Mom taught me to always read a document before signing  it. I have pissed people off because of this.  When you sign a legal document, you are pledging your word that you will abide by the terms of it. You may not intend to sign a contract that requires you to, say, sell your first born to the Devil, but if you don’t read it…. As they say, the Devil is in the details.

Our illustrious Congress Critters and Present OB seem to have found this out the hard way. And, no, it doesn’t have to do with the Healthcare  Reform Fiasco.

Present OB  signed a bill into law Wednesday that would require passengers who carry firearms aboard AMTRAK be locked in boxes for their journey. It seems there was a **ahem** typo (or something) between the version of the bill that was passed and the bill that made it’s way to the Present’s desk.

Earlier this week, Congress sent the president a massive spending bill that funded dozens of federal departments. In the transportation section of the legislation are safety requirements for AMTRAK customers who carry firearms on board, basically bringing the rules in line with the airline industry.  The bill Congress passed, mandates that passengers with firearms declare they have weapons with them in advance and stow them in locked boxes while on the train.

The language that referred to putting the guns in locked boxes morphed into requiring the passenger as well as the gun to be placed  into locked boxes.

So, maybe, BO should read what he signs….Naah, that would be to easy.

It Must Be Getting Crowded…

Well, the leaders (gack, cough, cough) of our country are poised to screw us over pass more legislation that will send us to the poor house lead us into a new era of politically correct, peace and prosperity.

The “Health Care Reform Bill” (and boy, will it ever reform us) has even more little goodies that they hope the common serfs will never see until it’s to late.

“After spending almost $80 million during the last election cycle, unions are on the brink of reaping a significant return on their investment. Despite representing only about 7.6% of private sector employees, unions are poised to gain significant privileges, authority and financial windfalls from health care reform. Coming at the expense of tax-paying patients and businesses, these specific benefits would do little or nothing to improve our health care system.”  The Houston Chronicle reports that pro-union legislators have quietly slipped many provisions into the bill that will directly benefit unions, and guess who gets to pay for it?? BINGO – WE DO!!

Check this out:

  • $10 billion in taxpayer-funded bailout money, innocuously referred to as a “reinsurance program.”
  • Unions would have guaranteed seats on various Federal Panels, which would take the lead in recommending health care policy.
  • Exemptions for union-negotiated health care plans from taxes on “Cadillac” health plans.
  • Senate proposals include language that could force home health workers into unions.
  • Exclude non-union employers from eligibility to work on program-funded contracts.
  • Lucrative state training partnerships that contain little or no opportunities for non-union employee organizations.

With all of the special interest groups that have their heads up BO’s ass, it must be getting crowded up there.

Evil or Just Plain Stupid?

“One of the greatest delusions in the world is the hope that the
evils in this world are to be cured by legislation.”

Thomas Reed, 1886.

If you sign a contract, you should honor it.  But before you sign it,,,,, YOU SHOULD READ IT.  I was taught that a long time ago.  I have pissed a few people off because they shoved something under my nose and demanded I sign it, and I refused because…I HADN’T READ IT.

So why can’t our representatives (and I use the word loosely as I don’t know WHO they are representing – not me for sure) freaking read the legislation they are passing?  Do they not read it because they never learned to read? Do they not read it because it’s to long and boring? (Hint – you wrote it, make it shorter). Or do they not read it because they don’t give a damn about “We the People”?

Evil or Stupid?

The promised “transparency ” in government didn’t even make it past the first piece of legislation that BO signed. No posting on the web, in time for everyone who wanted to could read it.  Not even reading it in session so the idiots congress critters who were voting on it could hear what kind of stupidity they were about to commit.

Evil or Stupid?

Someone said that giving power to politicians is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.

So… Evil or Stupid?

Unintended Consequences

What do you get when you pass legislation without reading it? Some very interesting things…

We now have a new National Anthem, thanks to the idiots in Congress who sign things they don’t read.

National Anthem

You get what you pay for.

Caution: Government Stupidity Approaching

HR 875 The Federal Takeover of Food as we know it. Forget “Buy Local” Forget grow your own. Prepare to be assimilated.  No kidding – this bill will drive small farmers right out of business. Looks like that’s what Big Brother wants. Oh, hey – what about the little garden in the yard at the White House (oh wait a minute – that’s  soooo racist, a WHITE House) . Anyway – do you think Michelle and the kids will have to abide by the rules set for the rest of us….HA, not a chance in hell.

This POS legislation goes hand in hand with the NAIS program. This program is designed to drive small livestock raisers out of business. That should nicely corral the food supply.

When we can’t raise our own food, or livestock and the government takes our wages to spend as they see fit, we can just toddle off to our “mandatory volunteerism” and all will be well with the world.

The unicorns better start shitting gold brick s pretty soon.
